Asteroids and Meteorites (Cosmic Mix)

Are you an asteroid or a meteorite?

Funny feeling inside,

Something isn't quite right.

When the sky is falling

And the veil is calling,

There's nothing that I can do,

So I'm holding on to you

You were there from my very first day,

Held my hand so I wouldn't wander or go astray.

All I wanted was for you to be proud of me,

All you wanted was for me to be

Without a care, without a need.

Am I a asteroid or a meteorite?

All I know is that

Something really isn't quite right

When the moon is bleeding and heaven's receding

And even gods can die

Can we compromise, can we see eye to eye?

I just stare and I wonder what I should do now,

All alone and I gotta make due somehow.

The bullets fly and blood is running around me;

I'm surprised that death hasn't yet found me.

A thousand angels came, chariots're wreathed in flame.

Sinners crash and burn and saints retch

and turn from shame

The angels fall from their place in the sky,

To perish alone where the land cries,

Explode with the land mines.

No need to worry but maybe we should be hurrying,

Scurrying.

The world bringing in misery and impertinence

When the earth gives birth to beasts

or carnal feasts

or false fallen priests

Who am I?

What are we, are we asteroids or just meteorites?

All we know is that, something really isn't quite right

When darkness is loving light

And the blazing glory is nothing but gory

But I'm telling you what's left of the story.

Today my angels came

(The carriages were wreathed in flame)

To take my heart to a place and --

I don't know the name.

It's so much more than I thought that it

Would ever be.

A place where we can be together forever and

We'll be there to the end of all days,

Holding hands through the rime and the blaze.

Though the world might be ripped asunder,

I will never ever ever ever ever have to wonder:

'Was that an asteroid or a meteorite?'

Now I know that everything will be alright.

Even if the stars should fall,

We will stand tall.

Hearts beat as one,

Shining like the sun,

One for all.

Even if the stars should fall,

We will stand tall.

Hearts beat as one,

Shining like the sun,

One for all.
