Asteroids and Meteorites

Were you an

Asteroid or a meteorite

All I know is that

Something isn't quite right

When the sky is falling

And the veil is calling

And all I can do

Is hold on to you

You were there from my very first day

Held my hand so I wouldn't go astray

All I wanted was for you to be proud’a me

All you wanted was for me to be carefree

Am I an

Asteroid or a meteorite

All I know is that

Something isn't quite right

When the moon is bleeding

And heaven's receding

And even gods can die

Can we see eye to eye?

I just stare and I wonder what to do now

All alone I've gotta make due-- somehow!

Bullets fly and blood runs all around me

If there's a path ahead I cannot see

A thousand angels came,

chariots wreathed in flames

To make sinners burn

and saints turn from shame

But angels fall from their place in the sky,

To perish alone where the land cries.

When the earth gives birth

to many-headed beasts

And depraved carnal feasts

and false fallen priests

Are we

Asteroids or just meteorites

All we know is that

Something isn't quite right

When darkness is loved by the light

And the blazing glory's nothing but gory

But we won't let that be

The whole story.

Today my angels came,

carriage wreathed in flame

To take my heart to a place with no name

It's so much more than I thought it'd be

A place where we can be forever happily

We'll be there 'til the end of all days

Holding hands through the rime and the blaze

Though the world might be ripped asunder

I will never again have to wonder:

Was that an

Asteroid or a meteorite?

Now I know that

Everything will be alright

Even if the stars should fall

We will stand tall

Our hearts beat as one

Shining like the sun
